La prima volta che incontrai Chase Parker, non feci esattamente una
buona impressione.

Non potei fare a meno di lanciare sguardi nascosti a quello stronzo
presuntuoso dall’altra parte della stanza. Ovviamente, mi beccò in più di un’occasione
e mi fece l’occhiolino.
Quando il meraviglioso sconosciuto e la sua altrettanto bella
accompagnatrice apparvero improvvisamente al mio tavolo, pensai che lui stesse
per spifferare tutto.
Ma invece, fece finta di conoscermi e si unì a noi- raccontando una
elaborata ed imbarazzante storia riguardo la nostra finta infanzia.
Il mio accompagnatore improvvisamente passò dall’annoiato al curiosamente
eccitato.
Quando tutto finì e ci separammo, pensai a lui più di quanto avrei mai
ammesso, anche se credevo che non l’avrei rivisto mai più.
Voglio dire, quali erano le possibilità di incontrarlo di nuovo in una
città con otto milioni di abitanti?
D’altra parte…
Quali erano le possibilità, un mese dopo, che lui finisse per essere il
mio nuovo sexy boss?

thought he was going to rat me out.
